FAO is a United Nations agency that coordinates global efforts to combat hunger. With 195 member countries (including the European Union), FAO works in more than 130 countries around the world.
IFAD is a specialized United Nations agency. They have provided US$23.2 billion through low-interest grants and loans. The Fund invests in rural communities to improve food security, build resilience, grow businesses, and take ownership of their future.
The main objectives for AICS are to fight poverty and to improve the social and health conditions of the population. Among the cross-cutting sectors particular attention is given to social inclusion and gender aspects such as women’s empowerment.
